Înțelegerea Pronumelor Posesive

• Ce sunt și cum le deosebim? Pronumele posesive sunt diferite de adjectivele posesive (my, your, his, her, its, our, their). Adjectivele posesive stau întotdeauna în fața unui substantiv (ex: *my book*), în timp ce pronumele posesive stau singure și înlocuiesc întregul grup nominal (ex: *This book is mine*). Ele nu sunt urmate niciodată de un substantiv.
• Lista pronumelor posesive Iată lista completă a pronumelor posesive, asociate cu pronumele personal corespunzător: - I (eu) -> mine (al meu, a mea) - You (tu) -> yours (al tău, a ta) - He (el) -> his (al lui, a lui) - She (ea) -> hers (al ei, a ei) - It (el/ea, neutru) -> its (al lui/ei, a lui/ei) – *rar folosit ca pronume posesiv* - We (noi) -> ours (al nostru, a noastră) - You (voi) -> yours (al vostru, a voastră) - They (ei/ele) -> theirs (al lor, a lor)
• Exemple în propoziții Pentru a înțelege mai bine, privește aceste exemple: - *That is my car.* (Adjectiv posesiv) -> *That car is mine.* (Pronume posesiv) - *Is this your pen?* -> *Is this pen yours?* - *These are their books.* -> *These books are theirs.* Observă cum pronumele posesiv înlocuiește 'adjectiv posesiv + substantiv'.
