Utilizare can could may might engleza
Can, could, may și might sunt verbe modale care exprimă posibilitate, permisiune sau capacitate. Can indică capacitate prezentă, could este trecutul sau o posibilitate mai slabă, may și might arată permisiune formală sau probabilitate.
Diferențe de sens
- Can vs. Could Can: capacitate curentă (I can run fast). Could: capacitate trecută sau posibilitate (I could run faster when I was younger).
- May vs. Might May: permisiune formală (May I leave?) sau probabilitate mare (It may rain). Might: probabilitate mai mică (It might snow).
- Could vs. Might Could: posibilitate bazată pe abilitate (She could win). Might: incertitudine (She might come).
Exemple practice
- Permisiune Can I borrow your pen? (informal) / May I borrow your pen? (formal).
- Posibilitate It could be true. / It might be true (ambele arată incertitudine).
- Capacitate He can speak French. / He could speak French as a child.
Folosește may pentru politete, might pentru situații mai puțin probabile.
